That, along with Halo 3 and Team Fortress 2 (The Orange Box 360 version) were my childhood. I have no clue why, but Warhawk was just so fun, my favorite out of the three. Now that I think about it after all these years, Warhawks (which for those who don't know are essentially harrier fighter aircraft) were pretty damn OP. Like, game-destroying OP. It wasn't apparent at launch, but it really showed as the game got older and everyone got more and more skilled with them.I also tried the multiplayer beta for Starhawk.
Starhawk, the not-quite-a-sequel to Warhawk has arrived! Though the game has pulled all of its core elements from Warhawk, it is entirely different. While Warhawk was strictly a multiplayer game; Starhawk has a story, a campaign and a whole new take on multiplayer gaming. With the new build and battle system you control your strategic destiny.
They gave out codes via Uncharted 3 purchases iirc? The building mechanic was really fascinating at the time. Unfortunately, we were all strapped for cash, and the thought of buying the full game never dawned on me again.I wonder, what are the state of both games today? I assume their multiplayer is dead now? I would like to go check, but my PS3 has long been dead.
What has happened with the dev studios?. I still remember the first time we sat down to play Warhawk. It was truly amazing. Getting my feet wet, having a shootout on foot with some soldiers from the other team, and three Hawks come screaming over out heads in the middle of a dogfight. One takes heavy damage, the pilot lands and bails just before it gets destroyed. Suddenly we have a new team member, and two angry Hawks buzzing the gunfight.
Explosions everywhere. It's the perfect Arcade-y escalation of something like Battlefield.Loved that game to bits, and I gave Starhawk a really decent shake as well. I enjoyed it, but it started to suffer some balance issues that never really plagued Warhawk. It's a shame the devs weren't able to continue support, because just like some of the epic moments in Warhawk (soloing a tank by throwing a mine at it and sprinting at it with a flamethrower), the pure unbridled chaos of transforming your Starhawk into a Mech and landing to ruin everyones day never, ever got old.There0003.
